We believe that gambling should not cause harm to people or the communities in which they live. We exist to ensure that gambling safeguards are in place, to promote the wellbeing of all those we serve. We seek to influence positive change, advance responsible gambling, and lead standards, because we believe that:

• People have a right to be aware of gambling’s inherent risks, know how to prevent harm, and to have access to support when they need it
• By creating new knowledge about gambling’s impact through research, we can constantly move practices forward and prevent harm
• Gambling regulations should put the public’s safety and wellbeing first
• Partnerships with the gambling industry can minimize the risks to operators’ customers, reputations and business performance
• Supporting the health of the player base is the only way for the gambling industry to be sustainable
• Creating safe, manageable gambling behaviours benefits both players and the industry

When gambling doesn’t come at a human cost:

• The industry and its operators are committed to harm prevention strategies and conduct business with mitigation in mind
• Regulations put the safety and wellbeing of the public first
• Researchers advance knowledge on the impacts of gambling to further best practices for all

We assist operators and regulators by:

• Creating and sharing knowledge to advance responsible gambling
• Leading jurisdictional reviews and program development and support
• Providing training and advisory services for operators and their employees
• Establishing standards and providing accreditation for land-based or internet gambling
• Bringing stakeholders from across the globe together to promote dialogue and advance best practices

We assist people and communities by:
